Davis & Shirtliff Limited invites Expression of Interest from eligible and qualified suppliers for the Provision of Consolidated Road Transport Services for the transportation of goods from Tatu City, Kenya, to the following destinations:

  • Burundi - Bujumbura
  • Somalia - Mogadishu
  • Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) - Lubumbashi
  • South Sudan - Juba

The selected service provider will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, ensuring that shipments are consolidated, transported, and delivered in compliance with all local and international regulations.

Scope of Work:

  • Transportation of Goods: Safe and timely delivery of products from Tatu warehouse to destinations in Burundi, Somalia, the DRC and South Sudan.
  • Fleet of Vehicles: Availability of a fleet equipped to handle a variety of freight needs, including heavy machinery, construction equipment and bulk items.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Provision of all necessary customs and transit documentation, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations in each country.
  • Tracking & Updates: Real-time tracking of shipments, providing Davis & Shirtliff with regular updates on the location and status of goods in transit.
  • Flexible Delivery Options: Ability to accommodate both scheduled and urgent shipments, with options for partial and full loads as required.
  • Insurance Coverage: Provision of suitable insurance coverage to safeguard against any potential risks during transit.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for consideration, bidders must meet the following criteria clearly presented and outlined in their proposal as follows:

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in providing cross-border road transport services within East Africa and the larger region (including Burundi, Somalia, DRC and South Sudan).
  • Must demonstrate the availability of a reliable fleet capable of handling a wide range of cargo, including bulk shipments and sensitive equipment.
  • Must provide evidence of compliance with all relevant local and international regulations, including customs, insurance and vehicle safety standards.
  • Ability to offer competitive pricing with a proven track record of on-time delivery.

Submission Requirements:

Interested and qualified suppliers are required to submit the following:

  1. Certificate of Incorporation/ Business Registration Certificate
  2. Business Permit
  3. Tax Identification Number (PIN) Certificate
  4. Certified Audited Accounts: for the last 3 financial years
  5. Company Profile: With detailed background information, including experience in cross-border logistics and road transport services.
  6. Copies of relevant certifications, licenses and proof of insurance coverage.
  7. Past Contracts & References: At least three corporate references or evidence of past contracts from providing similar services in the region. Indicate the company name, contact and location.
  8. Pricing: Outline your detailed pricing structure, including the services. (Please note that only suppliers who are eTims compliant will be considered for engagement).
  9. Other supporting documentation that will demonstrate the company’s capability to deliver the required services.

Submission Deadline: 

The digital submission of the tender documents is MANDATORY and should be submitted on or before 30th May 2025 before 12:00pm. Late submissions will NOT be considered.
